FBC Petersburg believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God and without mistakes as originally written. The Bible is the complete revelation of God’s plan for salvation and is useful in teaching, rebuking, and training in righteousness;
God
FBC Petersburg believes in one God forever alive in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all three are of equal importance and to be praised forever.
Christ
FBC Petersburg believes in the finished Work of God’s Son, Jesus Christ including; His supernatural conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His perfect and faultless life; His propitiatory death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to heaven at the right hand of the Father where He currently resides; and His valuable return on an unknown day.
Man
FBC Petersburg believes that man was created by God and for God’s purposes; due to man’s disobedience, every person experienced spiritual death, which is separation from God forever, as well as physical death; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice.
Salvation
FBC Petersburg believes in the perfect plan of God to send His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who offered Himself as the final sacrifice for all people and was raised from the dead. By that sacrifice and resurrection, God offers forgiveness from all sin past, present, and future; righteousness, and heaven to those who would receive His free gift of eternal life
Holy Spirit
FBC Petersburg believes in the constant and present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling all believers, guiding, helping, advocating, enabling, and empowering the life and ministry that Jesus has planned for His followers.
Death and Resurrection
FBC Petersburg believes in the bodily resurrection from the dead for everyone who has been gifted with right relationship with God, and the everlasting punishment/separation in a place named hell for those who have rejected God’s forgiveness and new life in His Son.
